Air-Conditioning

ATM
the nearest ATM is 3 minutes away from our house. Just go down the Alser Straße until you get to the post office. There is another one on your way to the metro station (Alser Straße) just across the street from the station. If you are not sure about the street names, just ask again at the Front Office.
Airport
To the airport you will need approximately 25 minutes with a car depending on the traffic. The most comfortable way is to arrange a transfer at our Front Office. You get picked up in the lobby at your wished time and the service costs € 45, -. Let us know at least 2 hours in advance so we can reserve the transfer for you. Other options are by public transport (with the S7 train) or the airport bus (from Westbahnhof Station). These options take about an hour to the airport, and just ask for precise directions at our Front Desk.
Bank

Bathrobes

Breakfast
Our rich and delicious breakfast buffet is served every morning in our café from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. (on Saturadays, Sun- and Holidays until 11:00 a.am.) and offers a variety of cheese, bread, pastry and most importantly lots of homemade delicious treats. If you need lactose-free or gluten-free products, just let our Food&Beverage Team know; they are at your disposal all the time during breakfast. You booked without breakfast or you have friends that would like to visit you for breakfast? No worries! Just let our Front Office Team know.

Café-Bar
Here we serve for you a rich delicious breakfast-buffet from 06:00 to 10:00 a.m, on Saturdays, Sundays and on holidays until 10:30 a.m. Our café is open 24 hours and you can get a Viennese coffee with a homemade Apple-Strudel anytime, as well as just a glass of Austrian wine for the good night sleep. If you are feeling just a little hungry, we offer also a variety of snacks.
Check-Out
On your departure day you are welcomed to stay in the rooms until 11:00 a.m. If you booked directly with us (telephone, homepage, e-mail, personally) you are more than welcome to use your late check-out until 12 o´clock. In case you want to check out and leave your luggage until it is time for your flight or train, you can do so in the lobby in our luggage space. You feel like staying longer in the room? No worries, just ask at the front office! We may be able to accommodate you with a late check-out.
Children
In case you need a stool for kids at breakfast, please ask our Food&Beverage staff.
Concerts
A trip to Vienna without a visit to a concert is only a half of trip! No matter which concert you are eager to see, we are more than happy to arrange you some tickets. Please ask at the Front Office, they will take care of you! Credit Cards We accept: Visa, MasterCard, Diners, JCB, CUP or Maestro. But mainly we ask you kindly for cash payments since we want to invest transaction-fee-money much rather in new services for our guests.
Doctors
We hope you do not need one, but in case you do our Front Office Team is here to help you. Just let us know and we can get a visiting doctor. In cases of emergency, an ambulance can be reached as well (Tel. 0-144).
Donauwalzer
Is the name of our Hotel and an ode to the Waltz composed in 1867 by Johann Strauss II. The Donauwalzer is also the unofficial anthem of Vienna and is played every New Year’s Eve at the concert with thousands of people dancing their way into the new year. You can start practicing with us: every Saturday in our lobby with free Waltz lesson.
Emergency Exits
In case of an emergency (e.g. fire), you can use the 4 emergency exits to leave the hotel. Please note, in normal situations only official exits are to be used for leaving the hotel and the other emergency doors are equipped with alarms.
Family Business
The Boutique Hotel Donauwalzer exists since 1901 (or 1856 – the information got lost during time) and is ever since a family-owned business. Today Katharina and Klaus Kluss take care of the business with much love and vision for this 120-year old house.
Garden
Our Hotel is in possession of a beautiful leafy patio you can use any time. Whether you want to enjoy the fresh air, the peace and quiet, smoke a cigarette or have a cup of coffee – it is up to you. You may stumble upon our hard-working team members you can have a chat with. And so everyone can relax, we kindly ask you to keep it down after 10 p.m.
Grocery Store
The nearest grocery store (as well as drugstore) is approximately 5 minutes walking away. It is towards the city center in the Alser Straße on the left side of the road.
Jacuzzi
Our Hotel has just a few rooms with a luxurious jacuzzi (=whirlpool). In case you did not book one ask if such a room is available for you. If you are out of luck this time, we have a private SPA area you can reserve just for you and enjoy not only a jacuzzi but a finish sauna and an infra-red cabin as well. Ask for available times at the front office.
Key
When you leave our house, please leave your key with our 24-hour-open Front Office. It is too heavy for carrying around and you avoid losing it. Since we are always open, you can get your key anytime back from our team on the Front Office.
Live-Music
Every Sunday during breakfast we offer you a real treasure piece of Viennese Atmosphere. The classic Waltz plays while you enjoy your breakfast.
Lunch Packages
You have to leave before breakfast time? Let us know the morning before and we will prepare an early-bird breakfast for you or a lunch package to take with.
Luggage
Your flight or train leaves after check-out time? No worries! Leave the luggage in our lobby area until your departure.
Laundry Service
Do you have laundry you need washed? No worries! Please use your laundry bag from your room and the laundry form with the prices and bring it to the Front Office. Please give us 24 hours to get your laundry ready for you. We do our best to bring your clothing items on the same day to your room!
MiniBar
In each room you can find a Minibar in our Hotel with a variety of snacks and drinks. We kindly ask you to tell our Front Office Team what you had once you come to the check-out.
Massage
Our Front Office Team can arrange massages in nearby salons for massages.
Newspapers
The new and latest Austrian newspapers can be found in our lobby at the entrance into the Café.
Pharmacy
The nearest pharmacy is located about 4 minutes walking-distance on the Alser Street. It is on the right side of the road and is called Kaiser-Josef-Apotheke, (Alser Straße 51, Tel: +43 (0)1 4056377).
Public Transport
Just right in front of the hotel, you can find the tram 44 which will take you directly to the Ring Street (Schottentor) in 7 minutes. Alternatively, you can also walk to the city center about 1600 meters. The nearest metro station is U6 Alser Straße, 150 meters away. Other public transport options are the trams 2, 33, 5, 43 and the bus 13A.
Parking
Our friendly Front Office Team is here to find the best and cheapest option for your car. We have many options, so just ask which is the best one for you. Please note, that we do not cover costs or any fees for wrongly parked cars. Note the international signs on the road where you park your car. In case you park in a forbidden zone, it is possible your car gets towed away and the fees in this case are very high.
Post-Office
You can deposit your postcards (we have stamps as well) at the Front Office and we will get them to the post office on the same day.
Please do not disturb
You want a little peace and quiet? Just hang the sign with the red card on the door and our team will know not to disturb you. Please note, that in this case our housekeeping team may not be able to clean your room.
Pets
Pets are more than welcome in our house. We only ask you kindly to take care of your pets and consider other guests or children that might be scared. If you need a pet sitter please let us know 48 hours in advance!
Payment
We most certainly accept credit or debit cards as well as cash. We prefer of course cash in payments so we can invest the extra money we save on transaction costs on credit cards into new services for our guests.
Pillow
For you to experience the highest sleeping comfort, we prepared for you a variety of high quality pillows. You name it; a soft, hard, fluffy, a neck role pillow or a swiss-stone-pine filled one - just let us know your wish and share it to our friendly Front Office team.
Repairing
Is your light bulb broken? Or you saw something that is? This happens even in the best homes – although it should not. But please let us know, so our technicians can come by and fix it as soon as you leave the room.
Souvenirs
In the lobby shop you can find a small choice of magnets, postcards and other souvenirs you buy for your beloved ones.
Safety deposit box
A personal free-of-charge safety deposit box is reserved for you in our lobby. Please note, that the hotel does not take responsibility for the things left in rooms.
Safety
Vienna is ranked one of the safest cities in the world. Anyway, being a capital and a big city, typical occurrences happen. Wear your wallet and other valuables in inner pockets and watch after your handbag, being tightly closed.
Sightseeing Tours
At the Front Office you can get hop-on hop-off tours for sightseeing anytime. Besides you can book tours for outside of Vienna as well, Danube rides etc.
Stairs
If you do not want to use our elevators, you can use our two set of stairs.
Taxi
If you need a cab, just tell our Front Office Team and a ride will be waiting for you in 5 minutes. Please wait for the pick-up in the Hotel Lobby and not outside. If you need a cab to the airport we propose our transfer with a fixed price.
Tips
Tips are welcomed as everywhere and are also part of the salary. If you are happy with our services (housekeeping, breakfast, Front Office Team), then we are happy if you want to show gratuity for our employees. You can leave your tip at the Front Office. Thank you!
Waltz
What a trip to Vienna be without a Waltz? So you leave Vienna prepared and so you can show off with your waltz moves, practice your waltz steps with our professional dancers every Saturday at 9 a.m. in the lobby. Come have breakfast and take a waltz lesson for free!
WIFI Free
WIFI is available everywhere in the hotel and you can use either one of our two networks available.
Wellness
Our private SPA area is available to you 24 hours every day, where you can relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. It can be reserved for 2 hours and it includes the use of our whirlpool, shower, infra-red cabin and Finnish sauna. We prepare for you ice-cold citrus water, bath robes and slippers. Please note that the demand is high so as soon as you know a time you wish to use the SPA, please ask our Front Office Team for the next available appointment and prices.
