Traveling with a dog - our VID service
WAU! Vacation with dog

Rex, Rocky, Struppi, Rantanplan, Luna, Buddy, ... are going on a journey!

2-legged friends or 4-legged friends: we don't even know who we would most like to welcome to Vienna! Preferably all of them! As you can see, we at the BoutiqueHOTEL Donauwalzer love dogs! And we are particularly pleased that the masters and mistresses here with us have the opportunity to take their four-pawed companions with them. Unfortunately, this is anything but a matter of course in many other hotels in Vienna. And because we know from our own experience how unfortunate that is: Welcome Max, Lucky, Neo, Oskar, Spike, Sisi, Charly, ...

To make you feel safe and comfortable, your dog will be given its own dog tag on arrival so that it can be brought back safely if it goes sightseeing on its own: with the hotel telephone number on its collar, nothing can happen. After an exhausting day of running around and romping, a soft blanket, food and water await your dog. Don't worry: YOU can go to the bar. WITH your dog, of course!

If Susi, Gina, Ronja, Tyson, Jack, Bobby don't feel like going to the museum and the like, you will find information here about exercise routes or swimming spots, such as the Danube, which can be reached directly from the hotel on the U6 underground line, or the dog zone a block away. Speaking of exercise: the famous Viennese "Gackerl-Sackerl" (sic!) are of course also available! So that your dog can chew on your shoes undisturbed and not be disturbed by our room fairies, there is a "Do not disturb" sign. What else should you know? We charge € 20,- per night per dog and ask for your understanding that we allocate rooms with parquet floors in this case.

Ben, Teddy, Bobby, Olga, Emma, Senta, Fuchur are allowed to go everywhere with you, we only ask you to keep your dog on a leash and to enter the SPA area only with your human partner. If you need a dog sitter, please let us know when you book your room. We will endeavor to provide this service for a fee. With this in mind: Wau Wau and see you soon in Vienna!

Important tips for dog owners

If your pet absolutely wants to leave a "souvenir" on the street - so-called "Gackerlsackerl" (= Viennese for poop bags) are available throughout the city, which can be taken free of charge from so-called dog poop bag dispensers (there is one right next to the hotel). Because what the otherwise animal-loving Viennese don't like at all is so-called "dog waste" on the street. This has been controlled in Vienna for several years and fines are imposed for non-compliance. Dogs must be kept on a lead or in a muzzle throughout the city. Both apply on public transport.

The best places for a walk

Vienna Woods
Wonderful recreational area for hikers and sports enthusiasts. Particularly easy to reach from the BoutiqueHOTEL Donauwalzer (streetcar line 43 from Alser Straße to the "Marswiese" station). From here, many hiking trails lead through the "green lung" of Vienna. Many rustic wine taverns and wine taverns invite you to relax!

Cobenzl
Walk with magnificent views over Vienna and the vineyards (terminus 38A).

Hirschstetten bathing pond
The best place in dog weather. The Hirschstetten bathing pond in the 22nd district is ideal when the mercury rises in summer. A large pond with its own fenced-in dog zone offers the ideal place to cool off. So nothing stands in the way of a cool dip with your darling.

Danube Island
The Viennese's favorite island. Easily accessible from the BoutiqueHOTEL Donauwalzer with the U6 (Alser Straße station, direction Floridsdorf). Get off at the "Neue Donau" station and you are already in Vienna's favorite recreational area - the Danube Island. The countless paths attract more than just sports enthusiasts in summer. Speaking of which - if you roller-skate - your dog will love the miles of paths. And your fitness too ...
