Holiday with dog
In the past, many emperors and celebrities in Vienna found their pleasure in having a dog by their side. The appearances of the petite Empress Sisi with her huge mastiffs were legendary. Even Mozart had a little mongrel. And today Vienna has lost none of its dog-friendliness. About 50,000 dogs are registered in the city - but it is estimated that there are almost twice as many of them.
We do not know who we would more like to welcome to Vienna! Best all of you! Maybe not all at the same time - our Newfoundlander Eos would be swamped by so many playmates! As you see, we at Boutique Hotel Donauwalzer love dogs! And we are particularly pleased that the masters and mistresses have the opportunity to take their four-legged companion here. Because that is, unfortunately, nothing obvious in many other hotels in Vienna. And because we know from personal experience, what a pity this is, so please welcome Max, Lucky, Neo, Oskar, Spike, Sisy. Charly, ...
And to make you also feel comfortable and safe, your dog will get his own dog tag immediately upon arrival, so in case he goes on an independent sightseeing tour, he will certainly be brought back safely: nothing can go wrong with the hotel phone number on the collar. After a hard day of walking and fooling around, a soft blanket, food and water awaits your dog. Do not worry, YOU can go to the bar. WITH your dog, of course!
If Suzy, Gina, Ronja, Tyson, Jack, Bobby should not be in the mood for museums & co, you will find a small welcome letter from Eos in your room with some of his favorite excersize places or even swimming areas, such as Danube, which can be reached directly from the hotel, or the dog area one block away. Speaking of walking with a dog: the famous Viennese Gackerl-Sackerl (poo-bags) are also available here! To let your dog chew on your shoes without being disturbed by our room fairies, there is a corresponding "do not disturb" sign. What else should you know? We charge € 15, - per night per dog and ask for your understanding that we will assign rooms with parquet floors in this case.
Ben, Teddy, Bobby, Olga, Emma, Senta, Fuchur are allowed to take you anywhere, we just ask you to keep your dog on a leash and enter the spa area only with your human partner. If you need a dog sitter, please let us know while making the reservation. Wau Wau and see you soon!
€ 15, - per night incl. VID service (Very Important Dog):
Food, water, blanket, dog towel, poo-bag, dog tag
If your darling-pet wants to leave a "souvenir" on the street - in the entire city area there are so-called "Gackerlsackerl" (= Viennese for poo-bags) available, which can be taken free of charge from so-called dog-faeces-bag-machine (right next to the hotel there is such a machine). Because what the otherwise so animal-loving Viennese do not like, are those droppings piles on the street. For several years now it’s been controlled in Vienna and in case of violation, a fine must be paid. In the entire city area dog leash or muzzle are mandatory. Both are necessary in public transport.
Wonderful recreational area for hikers and athletes. Very easy to reach from Hotel Donauwalzer (tram line 43 from Alser Straße to the station "Marswiese"). From here many hiking trails lead through the "green lung" of Vienna. Many rustic Heurige and Buschenschanken invite you to rest!
A walk with a wonderful view over Vienna and the vineyards (final stop 38A).
Swimming pond Hirschstetten
The best place during dog weather. The Hirschstetten swimming pond in the 22nd district is best solution when the mercury column climbs up in summer. This pond provides perfect cooling, there is also a separate, fenced dog zone. So nothing stands in the way of a cool bath with your pet.
The favorite island of the Viennese. From Hotel Donauwalzer you can easily reach it with U6 (station Alser Straße, direction Floridsdorf). You get off at the station "Neue Donau" and are already in the favorite recreational area of Vienna - the Danube Island. The countless trails in the summer attract not only sports enthusiasts. Speaking of sport - should you be into roller skate - your dog will be happy for miles. And your cardio too…
