Marriage in Vienna

Since 2010, same-sex couples in Austria have been able to legally secure their partnership. But where better to tie the knot than in Vienna? Nowhere else are there so many extraordinary locations for the perfect “wedding” than in Vienna. Whether classic, imperial in one of the imperial residences Hofburg or Schloss Schönbrunn or rather in your “private carriage” on the Vienna Giant Ferris Wheel? If you prefer to keep it simple, you can also simply register your partnership at the registry office.

Registration is possible for all (adult) Austrians, but also for homosexuals from abroad. Proof of birth registration and proof of citizenship are required. Important for foreign guests: Proof of residence abroad and marital status must be provided. And: If you do not have sufficient knowledge of German, an interpreter must be called in.
